You want to give your baby the best possible start—but with so much conflicting information out there, it’s hard to know what to expect. Those first minutes, hours, and days after birth lay the strongest foundations for breastfeeding, and feeling prepared can make all the difference.

I’m here to guide you. In a personalized prenatal consultation, we’ll review your health history, talk through your goals, and create a plan that sets you up for confidence and success.

What we may cover:

  • Positioning and latch
  • Hunger cues & knowing your baby is getting enough
  • Managing engorgement, breast & nipple care
  • Pumping, hand expression, and bottle feeding
  • Navigating diet & medications
  • Building and maintaining your milk supply
  • Options for inducing lactation (adoptive & non-birthing parents)

Let’s work together to empower you for a thriving future with your baby.

Feeding challenges can come up at any stage and it can feel destabilizing. Whether you’re navigating the early days or troubleshooting something new with your older baby, lactation support can make a big difference. During a comprehensive in-person visit, I’ll assess what’s happening, answer your questions, and help you create a personalized plan that gets you and your little one back on track.

What to expect:

  • Before your appointment, you’ll complete an intake form so I can understand your history and goals and provide the best, informed care possible.
  • During your appointment, you’ll:
    • Share your concerns so we can focus on what matters most.
    • Receive a tailored assessment, which may include latch and positioning support, a weighted feed, or an exam of you and your baby if relevant.
    • Leave with a clear plan before the visit ends.
  • After your appointment, you’ll receive your written care plan within 24 hours and your healthcare providers will receive a report of your care.
  • Follow up provided as needed.

"Ellen provided incredible support when I was struggling with pumping and breastfeeding after having my first baby. She met me where I was at and shared practical tips to improve the feeding experience for me and my baby. I highly recommend working with her if you are looking for lactation support in the Finger Lakes region."
